Stop evading the question, this is a miminal-(non-)working example of a problem I want to solve. Unless C in fact suffers under a strage set of limitations, this should be possible. Or might it be that by sequentializing the toolchain into a seprate pre-procesor and compiler, that C as a language prevents me from growing and extending the language as I see fit?
