I come here for a similar reason as >>9; I am interested in the ideas of other programmers and I enjoy partaking in discussions about topics that I like and am knowledgeable in.
Why would you go on any discussion forum if not because you value what others think?
You seemed to have missed my point. I do care, but only to a certain extent. It is just the "popular" opinions that get regurgitated over and over that I do not care for. Firstly, because they're usually wrong, and secondly because they're just boring. I want to hear something different.
