A music learning thread....

I think i have read all i need to know from chords to reversing and so on so forth and now the case left is about how to perform as well as...whoever you know on youtube. It seems practice and theory is two different beast entirely... and now it s about making the minds know how to work the hands to play the notes nicely...

on the basic i know the melody: i can hum fine and i am not tone deaf, and i can tell my playing sucks compared to the sound i hear on my laptop, so basically i am musically normal, i guess. In practice i tend to think of the song by humming it and then presing them out randomly until the note fits: i know the notes and its pitches. BUt the problem obviously, you cant just try out all the notes in performing, so naturally, there should be "something" that motivates your ...reflex in order to get the notes correctly?maybe?

Yes.
It's called sheet music.

3 2021-12-08 11:44

can you recall an entire song by using sheet music only?

4 2021-12-08 11:45 *

I still cannot take you seriously because of your terrible grammar.

Just sequence and quantize your work.

6 2021-12-08 16:53

quantize? sequence? explain?

It's not about recalling as much as it's about reading.
Do you know how to read sheet music?

Of course, at some point you will have memorized the song. At that point it's kind of like in muscle memory: you just know what keys and in what order you need to press to produce that melody.

8 2021-12-09 13:19

>>7 how do you "produce" melody again?

9 2021-12-09 14:28

I don't know the first thing about melody.

10 2021-12-10 02:13

>>8
Produce the first note, then produce the second note, then produce the third note, ... , then produce the nth note, ..., then produce the final note.

11 2021-12-10 05:37

>>10 obviously LOL, what are these notes about, then? The so called melody.

12 2021-12-10 08:18

>>11
You just play notes randomly and when they make a pleasing melody you write that down. There are some suggestions to what can be avoided since they very rarely produce pleasing melodies, but there's no real method to coming up with a melody. It's just exploration and experimentation.

13 2021-12-10 10:01

>>12 hmmmmm, i do write things down in very inorderly manner. What about if you want to, predict a song of your choice? would there be some manner of, logical approach to knowing how a song sounds, like matching keys to the humming you memorized?
