I will probably switch to OpenBSD if things get too bad (and if the CoCk is actually enforced). I will probably get better version of Xorg for free, too! Or perhaps I will be crazy enough to switch to NetBSD or DragonFlyBSD? Haiku is also an option, now that they have ported GNU Emacs to it! But I guess that dfly has so few developers that if I switch to it, I will need to become developers as well (but I'm afraid I don't have the required skills, i just know enough C to understand the K&R book).

I get that we live in a society and that collaboration requires a little bit of politics but injecting unnecessary politics into everything ruins things and makes everyone feel uncomfortable. The second problem is that if you accept contradictory notion such as gender identity (that is not capable of giving a clean definition of the terms it uses), you can derive any accusation if you want. If a project doesn't ensure any "checks and balances", it becomes easier to exclude undesired people for alterior reasons from participating. But this is all theoretical, it would require a emperical analysis of actual incidents in the past to decide if CoC are effective, ineffective or destructive.
