Alumnus Herman Van Ommen sworn in as Law Society of BC president
Our alumnus, Herman Van Ommen (’84), was sworn in today as the first UVic grad to become President of the Law Society of BC. Herman is a commercial litigator and arbitrator at McCarthy Tétrault, where he was Regional Managing Partner until spring 2015. He has been a great friend of the Faculty.
Herman will also be receiving the university’s Distinguished Alumni Award for Law on February 8 during a ceremony held in the Songhees Wellness Centre.
