Justice Russ Brown appointed to the Alberta Court of Appeal
Congratulations to UVic Law alumnus The Honourable Russell S. Brown (’94), on being appointed a Justice of Appeal of the Court of Appeal of Alberta, a Judge of the Court of Appeal for the Northwest Territories and a Judge of the Court of Appeal of Nunavut.
Appointed to the Court of Queen’s Bench of Alberta in February 2013, Brown was called to the bar in British Columbia in 1995 and practiced law in British Columbia and Alberta. Prior to his 2013 appointment, Brown was an associate professor and associate dean at the Faculty of Law, University of Alberta. He was also associate counsel with Miller Thomson LLP in Edmonton.
