Recent grad elected president of Tahltan Central Council

July 10, 2014 – One of UVic Law’s most recent alumni, Chad Day, has been elected president of Tahltan Central Council.

The election was held during the 2014 Annual General Assembly, July 2 to July 4, 2014. Day received 404 out of the total 885 votes cast in the presidential race.

Other presidential nominees included Pat Etzerza, Floyd Joseph, and Annita McPhee (who is also one of our distinguished alumni).

Day will work alongside Vice-President Heather Hawkins and returning Secretary-Treasurer Adrian Carlick.

Tahltan Nation is located in northwestern British Columbia, with many of its people residing in three main communities: Telegraph Creek, Dease Lake and Iskut.

We would like to congratulate Day on reaching this esteemed position of leadership – especially so soon after graduation. We are sure he will do a marvelous job.
