UVic Law grad students win both Law Society graduate scholarships

This year UVic students won both of the graduate scholarships offered by the Law Society of British Columbia.

Kathryn Thomson was awarded the Law Society Scholarship for Graduate Legal Studies. Kathryn is in our PhD program and works on the intersection between technology and electronic systems in court and dispute resolution processes on the one hand, and access to justice on the other.

Robert Clifford was awarded the Law Society Aboriginal Scholarship for graduate studies. Rob (of the Tsawout First Nation) is in the LLM program and works on the potential contribution of Coast Salish traditions and knowledge to legal practices in coastal regions of BC, particularly in the remediation of oil spills.  Congratulations to both Kathryn and Rob!
