McCarthy Tetrault LLP Reception Launches UVic Law's 2012-2013 Mooting Program

UVic Law kicked off the start of the mooting season with a reception on Monday, October 1st. It was also an opportunity to thank McCarthy Tétrault LLP for its generous support of the mooting program. Managing partner and UVic alumnus, Herman Van Ommen was on hand to represent McCarthy Tétrault at the event.

The firm’s support has allowed the faculty to hire Trevor Morley, a 3rd year law student, as the McCarthy Tétrault LLP Mooting Fellow. Trevor will take a lead role in organizing the faculty’s mooting program, including advising and assisting teams in preparing for competitions, and liaising with faculty supervisors, coaches and guest judges to ensure that the program runs smoothly. The funds will also help with other costs for students participating in mooting events throughout the year.

The mooting teams and coaches for the 2012-2013 program were announced at the reception.
