UVic Law Alumnus appointed a Judge of the Supreme Court of BC
UVic Law alumus, the Honourable Douglas W. Thompson, has been appointed a Judge of the Supreme Court of British Columbia, and will sit in Nanaimo. Mr. Justice Thompson earned both his Bachelor of Laws (1982) and Master of Laws (2008) at the University of Victoria. An expert in civil litigation, he was a partner at Hatter Thompson Shumka McDonaugh. He has also been a sessional lecturer on civil procedure at the University of Victoria, served as a board member of Atomic Energy of Canada Limited, chair of the Management Review Committee of ICBC, and a member of the Council of the Canadian Red Cross.
