UVic Law Congratulates Adjunct Professory Michael Manson on His Judicial Appointment

Michael Manson, a long-time adjunct professor in the Law Faculty and leading Canadian expert in patent law, has been appointed a Judge of the Federal Court. A partner in the Vancouver office of Smart and Biggar, Michael has taught courses in Patent Law and Managing Intellectual Property. He was involved in planning and delivering the acclaimed International Intellectual Property Law Summer Program that ran from 2002-2007, a joint enterprise between UVic, St Peter’s College Oxford University and the College of Law University of Illinois. A committed teacher, Michael’s involvement extended beyond the classroom to include work with the student IP Club, attending as a speaker and sponsoring events for the Club. He was awarded the Dean’s Cup in 2004 for his significant contributions to the faculty of law.
