Professor Jeremy Webber begins term as Dean of Law

Jeremy Webber, Dean of LawWe are pleased to welcome Professor Jeremy Webber to the Dean’s Office. Professor Webber begins his five-year term as dean of the law school July 1, 2013.

Professor Webber, an internationally-recognized scholar on cultural diversity, constitutional theory, and indigenous rights, also brings extensive administrative experience to the table. Before coming to the University of Victoria he was Dean of Law at the University of Sydney and prior to that Associate Dean of Graduate Studies and Research in the Faculty of Law at McGill University.

Since coming to the University of Victoria, Professor Webber has made significant contributions to the Faculty of Law, taking a leading role in the development of the Graduate Program in Law and Society and serving as its second Director, and most recently as Director of the Consortium on Democratic Constitutionalism (Demcon). He has also held the Canada Research Chair in Law and Society, was a Trudeau Fellow, and has taught, mentored and supervised countless students.
