Student Accessibility Champions
The Student Accessibility Champions Initiative is a professional development program for current students employed by the Accessibility Institute.

Project Roles
Accessibility Institute is regularly seeking individuals with experience and skills in the following roles:
- Researchers and/or Research Leads
Seeking experienced researchers to lead projects which may include activities such as, but not limited to:
- literature reviews
- create and oversee data management plans
- collection of both qualitative and quantitative data
- establish focus group methodology and facilitate focus groups
- utilize measurements tools (such as Qualtrix, SPSS, etc.)
- professionally write findings, reports, and recommendations
- supervise project team
- work with external researchers and stakeholders
- Project Managers

Seeking candidates with experience in formal project management (not IT-based) who will be responsible for:
- ensuring that a project vision is implemented within set timelines
- deliverables are met
- reporting requirements are followed
- supporting a small project support team throughout research and/or knowledge mobilization activities
- Project Administrators/Coordinators
-
Candidates with the ability to take on administrative support roles to coordinate the work of specific projects (i.e., one project at a time). Project Administrators and Coordinators will also support the Project Manager or Research Lead, Research Team, student research assistants, and other team members and stakeholders.
- Knowledge Mobilization Experts
-
Candidates able to build and implement knowledge mobilization strategies for specific projects. Key areas of expertise may include:
- content development and curriculum design for both in-person and e-learning environments
- adult learning strategies
- needs assessment
- measurement and evaluation
- training (including train the trainer)
- Measurement and Evaluation Experts

Candidates with knowledge of evaluation and performance measurement principles, practices, standards, tools and techniques, including but not limited to:
- developing evaluation questions
- data collection methods
- quantitative and qualitative data analysis
- logic models and results frameworks
- performance indicators
- user experience research
- client journey mapping techniques
- quality assurance
- program assessment
- using specialized software such as SPSS, NVivo, etc.
- Student Research Assistants

Students at the undergraduate and graduate levels with an interest in developing their research, communication, and administrative skills.

Project-Based Work
All research project-based positions are supported through external funders (Tri-Council, provincial ministries, Accessibility Standards Canada (ASC), Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC), etc.) and have defined start and end dates. The nature of these positions involves limited access to Carleton University resources and benefits. There will be no opportunity for contract extensions. Positions will vary in length depending on the needs of each project.
