The Healthy Workplace theme for the month of May is movement. This month we hope to shine a light on the overall health benefits of movement, highlight different types of movement, and explore ways in which you can add more movement into your life.

To support this month’s theme, we’re joining the movement for workday movement and finding new ways to sneak physical activity into the day. The ParticipACTION “Sneak It In” program is all about squeezing in small bouts of physical activity into your workday. Healthy Workplace is challenging members of the Carleton faculty & staff community to move everyday this month!

Participating in regular physical activity that you enjoy can positively impact your overall health an wellness. According to ParticipACTION, while less than half of workers in Canada (44%) make an effort to incorporate movement into their workday, research shows that doing so helps employees feel happier, more focused, and less tired. If you’re focused on prioritizing your wellness, moving your body more, and getting involved in a campus community initiative, the May Movement Challenge is for you!

The goal of this challenge is to sneak movement into everyday throughout the month of May. The challenge will run from May 1 – 31 and how you choose move is completely up to you – walking outdoors with friends, lunchtime pickleball, a day of gardening and yard work, a round of golf – all movement is good movement!

Looking for inspiration when it comes to adding movement to your workday?  We’ve got you covered!

We’ve created a printable tracking sheet for those who wish to keep track of their movement this month DOWNLOAD YOUR TRACKING SHEET HERE
