Summary: The Soup Kitchen is a program of the 9-10 Club Serving Soup to the Hungry Society. The Society is a registered non-profit, non-denominational charity. Meal services started on Friday, November 12, 1982. It is the oldest, completely volunteer-run food resource for the hungry in Victoria.
Mission: The 9-10 Club Soup Kitchen exists as a food security source to the Victoria community.  Access to this food is provided to all those coming through our door with dignity, respect and without judgement or cost.

BC SPCA Wild ARC

Mission: BC SPCA Wild ARC is open 365 days a year to help sick, injured, and orphaned wild animals. Wild ARC is the only wildlife rehabilitation centre on southern Vancouver Island. We treated 2,816 animals last year from all over the region, helping them recover and return to the wild.
Mission: The mission of the BC SPCA Wild Animal Rehabilitation Centre (Wild ARC) is to provide humane care to injured, sick, orphaned and distressed wildlife based on rehabilitation standards and the animal’s natural history. The goal of rehabilitation is to release recovered animals back into the wild. Human activity affects over 80 percent of the animals treated at Wild ARC. We aim to reduce this impact, and educate the public about wildlife, animal welfare and co-existing with nature. Volunteer roles include: Animal Care, Fundraising & Outreach, Maintenance, Wildlife transport.
Vision: The BC SPCA wild ARC’s vision is to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals enjoy as a minimum, five essential freedoms: freedom from hunger and thirst, freedom from pain, injury, and disease, freedom from distress, freedom from discomfort, and freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.

Summary: Welcome to the British Columbia Aviation Museum – where history takes flight! If you would like to learn about aircraft and aviation history, then you will love to visit our Museum. We have aircraft on display that once flew in Canadian skies but mostly over British Columbia. Some of these aircraft date from 1910 and some are from modern times. We have experimental aircraft, a commercial airliner and military aircraft along with helicopters and seaplanes. All these aircraft were once quite familiar over BC communities but are now very rare. For younger visitors and their families, we have hands-on activities that will help them learn more about aviation. Also, please know that there are several opportunities to become involved with the museum as a volunteer, supporting one of the many activities that are available. You can bring your skills to the museum, or receive training in a new environment.

Summary: Since 1998, CW4WAfghan in partnership with Afghan women has trained more than 10,000 teachers, provided literacy classes for nearly 5,000 students and much more. Our programs have improved training for Afghan teachers, helped girls to go to school, created an online library of open-source teaching materials in Afghan languages and delivered literacy training for adults. In Canada we work to educate Canadians about the ongoing situation in Afghanistan. The Victoria Chapter supports our national organization by raising money for the programs, making presentations and having speakers.
Mission: Canadians taking action, in partnership with Afghan women, towards improving conditions of human rights, ending women’s oppression, and providing opportunities for Afghan women to live their lives with dignity, certainty and purpose.

Centre for Earth & Spirit Society

Summary: The Centre for Earth and Spirit Society is a charitable organization based on W̱SÁNEĆ and lək̓ʷəŋən territory, on lands known as Southern Vancouver Island, British Columbia. Summary: The Friends of Government House Gardens Society was formed in 1992 with the mission of undertaking the restoration and maintenance of the grounds of Government House. In cooperation with the House and the Garden Contractor, the Friends continue to restore and protect the Garry Oak Woodlands and maintain the gardens as they evolve in response to changing circumstances such as the presence of urban deer. The Friends design the garden plantings, maintain them and raise the funds to cover the cost of plants, fertilizer and tools as well as some tree, path and irrigation costs. Originally a small group of garden volunteers, today the Society has a membership of almost five hundred, the majority of whom are volunteers working not only year round in the gardens, woodlands and associated non-gardening activities but also with the seasonal tearoom, costume museum and greeters.
