CRS4 and the University of Cagliari explain the objectives and results of the project Tessuto Digitale Metropolitano, to the delegation composed by Willibrordus Sluijters and Francesca Raimondi, officials of DG Regio of the European Union, Piergiuseppe Mulas of the Agency for Territorial Cohesion.
The meeting was also attended by officials of the Regional Programming Center, of Sardegna Ricerche and the Pro-Rector Luciano Colombo delegate for research at the University of Cagliari.
The project is funded by Sardegna Ricerche under Action 1.2.2 of the 2014-2020 ERDF ROP.
The TDM project, funded by Sardegna Ricerche through Action 1.2.2 of the POR FESR 2014-2020, offers innovative solutions to improve the safety and quality of life of citizens, through the study and development of enabling platforms, open and scalable, and innovative vertical solutions for protection against weather and climate risks and for energy efficiency.
Demonstrators, software and applications for data aggregation, analysis, simulation and interactive visualisation are tested and validated in the city of Cagliari, exploiting advanced communication infrastructures and distributed sensors at metropolitan scale, and made available on the project portal.
The research activities are accompanied by a dissemination and training plan on the topic of Urban Informatics, in the framework of which two Spring Schools have already been organised (Big Data-2019, Visual Computing-2021), while the next edition on the topic of Energy will be held in June 2022 in Cagliari.
