Biden, Trump set for two televised debates

WASHINGTON (Gray DC) - The first presidential debate between President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump is set for June 27.

CNN will host the debate in Atlanta with anchors Jake Tapper and Dana Bash moderating.

A second debate is scheduled for September 10 in New York City hosted by ABC. Neither debate will have an audience.

Biden challenged Trump to a one-on-one showdown in a video message posted to social media Wednesday morning.

“Donald Trump lost two debates to me in 2020,” Biden said in the video. “Since then, he hasn’t shown up for a debate. Now he’s acting like he wants to debate me again. Well, make my day, pal. I’ll even do it twice. So let’s pick the dates, Donald. I hear you’re free on Wednesdays.”

The last sentence by Biden refers to Trump’s criminal trial schedule.

The Trump Campaign immediately accepted and said in a statement the debates “will allow voters to have maximum exposure to the records and future visions of each candidate.”

Both Biden and Trump have decided to not include Robert F. Kennedy Jr in their debates. Kennedy is polling in the double digits.

Most polls show a very close race between Biden and Trump in this presidential rematch.
