Listening to America: Affordable Housing Shortage

WASHINGTON (Gray DC) -The nation is in the midst of an affordable housing crisis. The National Low Income Housing Coalition says the U.S. is short 7.3 million affordable housing units. The nonprofit Breaking Ground develops supportive affordable housing. It says it renovated a residence with nearly 200 apartments for lower income individuals; 61,000 people applied to live there. Peter Zampa spoke with a man who lived on the streets before receiving Breaking Ground’s assistance. Peter also sat down with the head of the nonprofit.
