UNIGE Campus
The University of Geneva and the city that hosts it have intertwined destinies, as evidenced by a shared vision for the development of its campus, now unfolding across more than 70 locations and 205,000 square meters of usable space.
The University of Geneva pursues three main objectives for the upcoming decade:
- envision an integrated campus that enhances the sense of belonging and unity, ensuring the well-being and security of all members of the university community;
- support learning and creativity through the enhancement of educational, interactive, and research spaces, and the strengthening of ties with the city and the international Geneva;
- build for the future and address the growth in the number of students while minimizing the environmental impact of new surfaces required, using sustainability-conscious techniques.
The strategy involves, on one hand, interventions in existing buildings (renovations, redevelopments) and, on the other hand, the creation of new spaces (student housing, Centre for Physical and Mathematical Sciences). This dynamic approach comes to life through collaborative public-private partnerships.
