Waste management

Sustainability at UVic

"The University of Victoria has a responsibility and desire to educate members of the University Community to engage effectively as global citizens, steward our natural resources in a responsible manner, and work towards a sustainable future in cooperation with organizations at the local, provincial, national and global level." (UVic Sustainability Policy, 2009)

Waste management

At UVic we strive to model sustainability, applying ingenuity to find new and creative solutions and practices. Family housing residents are encouraged to support the university's sustainability goals through careful management of waste.

Compost, garbage, and recycling is collected at centralized drop-off spots throughout family housing. Refer to the Family Housing Agreement for your responsibilities in helping to keep our community green.
