Join the Society for Students with a Disability community. Review their resources and services. Attend an event or take a workshop.
Use the feedback form to suggest improvements to accessibility at UVic beyond what is included in the plan. Share your experiences.

Encourage and support professional development opportunities related to accessibility.
Identify champions in your area who can mentor others and promote accessibility.

Recent successes
Dedicated co-op supports for students with disabilities, including an Accessibility and Inclusion Co-op Coordinator.
Dedicated supports for accessible course design and redesign, including Learning Experience Designers in LTSI.
Most of UVic's buildings are Rick Hansen Foundation (RHF) Accessibility Certified. CARSA is certified gold. UVic’s two new housing and dining buildings were pre-construction approved gold, for an expected 38 on-campus RHF certified structures.
UVic’s standard website template adheres to level AA of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2 standards, with a compliance tool available to units when they update.

There are many more examples of great work happening across campus to make UVic more accessible and inclusive—too many to list here! We recognize that some barriers are more complex and will take longer to implement. We are committed to addressing all barriers.
