Why study visual arts at UVic?
Our dynamic and creative academic environment, home to a faculty of brilliant practicing artists, offers two undergraduate programs:
- Bachelor of Fine Arts with Major in Visual Arts
- Honours Bachelor of Fine Arts
- Bachelor of Fine Arts or Bachelor of Science, with Combined Major in Visual Arts and Computer Science (in co-operation with UVic's Department of Computer Science)
- Minor in Visual Arts
Our purpose-built facilities include studios, a gallery, a large inventory of technology and equipment, wood and metal shops, a photography studio and darkroom, a digital fabrication lab, a reading room, integrated media studios and more.
Our program is interdisciplinary by nature, allowing students to become well-rounded and flexible artists. We offer instruction in drawing, painting, sculpture, photography, extended media and video art.
