Neuroscience

The neuroscience graduate program is a multidisciplinary program, combining faculty from several UVic departments:

  • Division of Medical Sciences
  • Department of Biochemistry and Microbiology
  • Department of Biology
  • School of Exercise Science, Physical and Health Education

Our neuroscience graduate program focuses on cellular and cognitive neurosciences, reflecting UVic's two major neuroscience research streams.

The program emphasizes connections between the core areas in neuroscience: learning and memory, synaptic function, developmental neuroscience, sensory motor systems, and disease and injury. We encourage students to develop competencies in more than one area.
