Scholarships change lives

Inspiring Historians Legacy Scholarship

On the occasion of Dr. Wendy Wickwire and Dr. Eric Sager's retirements from UVic, we are establishing a scholarship fund to honour their legacy and that of other distinguished emeriti in the department. This fund will be built through the collective generosity of many individuals: please consider a contribution to the Inspiring Historians Legacy Scholarship. Our goal is to build a $25,000 endowed fund, enabling a $1000 annual scholarship.  $25,000 is the minimum required to create an endowed fund that generates annual income (i.e., a scholarship) in perpetuity. 

Resources for teaching

A gift to the History Department Sustaining Fund supports resources for teaching and enables us to continue to offer the intellectually stimulating curriculum our students have come to expect.

Awards for graduate students

A gift to the History Graduate Student Awards Fund supports student success. Scholarships and bursaries are critical in attracting the best and brightest minds to UVic and our department.  Student awards assist in removing some of the financial barriers faced by our graduate students, helping them reach their full potential while being recognized for academic excellence, achievement and leadership.
