Please be aware that legislation in Canada is still considered copyrighted material.

Canadian federal crown copyrighted material may be used without permission "for personal or public non-commercial purposes", as long as proper attribution is made.

Each province has its own copyright for publications and legislation. For the Province of British Columbia:

• materials such as government reports and publications are protected by copyright. If you wish to reproduce and entire document, you should fill out a request for permission.
• BC legislation is specifically covered by the "Queen's Printer License", which allows for commercial and noncommercial use, but requires that certain attributions and statements are included.

*Remember that linking to material, legally posted online, is always permissible as an alternative to copying.*

Small excerpts of federal and provincial material may also fall under fair dealing.
