Finances and awards

The minimum guaranteed stipend for all students in the program is $27,000/year. Average annual stipend for BCMB graduate students in 2022/23 was $33,350.

All students who apply before March 31st with a GPA of 6.0 or better (or equivalent) will be eligible for *either a University of Victoria Fellowship or a University of Victoria Graduate Award in their first year.

The Faculty of Graduate Studies at the University of Victoria sponsors a generous number of these awards and students who maintain a minimum GPA of 6.0 in their graduate course work will remain eligible for renewal of these awards in subsequent years.
