Course planning

Students have the freedom to design their own program in Biology.  Upon completion of the five core Biology courses, you can choose 300- and 400-level courses based on your interests.  The following course guidance documents can be used guide you to key courses in four major Biology disciplines: Ecology and Evolution, Cell and Molecular Biology, Organismal Biology, and Physiology. In selecting courses, you may want to combine courses from two or more disciplines.

You may also select courses to complete one of three concentrations in Biology: Marine Biology, Forest Biology and Neurobiology. Concentrations are indicated on your transcript.

A current list of courses is available in the UVic Academic Calendar. You can also take courses through the Bamfield Marine Sciences Centre. Course outlines are also available.
