About

I’m James Felix, a family physician with UVic since 2013. I have been a visitor on beautiful Coast Salish Territory (lək̓ʷəŋən & Musqueam) since 2012.  My pronouns are he and him.

I graduated medical school from University of Alberta and completed my residency at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario. I enjoy all aspects of family medicine and I am particularly inspired by the young adult journey of wellness.

I am passionate about the central roles of nutrition, lifestyle, nature, and community in our health. Seeing a need to dispel certain myths and form a more holistic management approach to ADHD, I founded the ADHD group workshop series for students in 2014. I have also been involved in the development of various collaborative mental health delivery models at UVic over the years and was proud to receive the CFPC/CPA Collaborative Mental Health Care Award in 2017 on behalf of our health team.

In my spare time I’m likely to be found digging vegetables from the garden, immersing myself in music, and playing in nature with my dog and young family. The Coast Salish Territory continues to awe and inspire me and I feel very lucky to be able to work, serve and play on these beautiful lands.
