Admission

Apply to UVic as a high school student or a transfer student from another post-secondary institution.

  • To complete a Data Science degree through the Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science, apply to the Computer Science program.
  • To complete a Data Science degree through the Faculty of Science, apply as a Science (Undeclared) student.

Once you've met the prerequisites for Data Science, you can apply to transfer into the program. Refer to the academic calendar for requirements and application timelines.

Alternatively, you can choose another degree program and add Data Science as a minor to broaden your studies.

English language proficiency

You must demonstrate English language proficiency to attend UVic. Your transcripts are enough to prove proficiency if you've studied full-time in an academic program at the high school or post-secondary level within Canada for at least four years, and all of your instruction was in English.
