Solar eclipse events in Middle Tennessee

Several events are being held around Nashville for the solar eclipse on Monday.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – While Nashville is not in the path of totality for the solar eclipse on Monday, there are events around the Music City to enjoy the celestial event.

Nashville is expected to see a partial solar eclipse starting at about 12:45 p.m. with the event lasting until about 2:30 p.m.

Below is a list of events happening around Nashville:

Adventure Science Center, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The Adventure Science Center, 800 Fort Negley Blvd., is holding several activities to celebrate the total solar eclipse, including a showing of Eclipse: The Sun Revealed in the Sudekum Planetarium. The center says it shows how to safely observe an eclipse and explains why they happen.

It will also offer different craft activities, including making keychains with UV-activated beads and solar art, solar car races using UV flashlights, and several ways to watch the eclipse. Learn more here.

Tanger Outlets, noon to 4 p.m.

Tanger Outlets in Nashville, 4060 Cane Ridge Parkway, is welcoming the community for its Total Solar Eclipse Viewing Party. Guests are invited to join the fun in The Green and receive a complimentary pair of solar eclipse glasses and space-themed snacks, while supplies last. Face painting, space-themed crafts, themed music, and prizes will add to the festivities, according to their media release.

The Black Abbey Brewing Company, 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m.

Nashville’s Black Abbey Brewing Company, 2952 Sidco Dr., will hold its Eclipse Party at The Abbey from 12:30 to 2 p.m. During its eclipse viewing party, it will play an eclipse theme and offer a viewing of 2001: A Space Odyssey at 5:30 p.m.

Bavarian Bierhaus, 12:30 to 3:30 p.m.

Bavarian Bierhaus, 121 Opry Mills Dr, will hold a solar eclipse viewing party in its “Bier Garten.” It will have limited eclipse glasses available for guests.

Williamson County Public Library, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

The Williamson County Public Library, 1314 Columbia Ave., said at its solar eclipse viewing party, guests can learn what causes an eclipse and how to view them safely from a local NASA Solar System ambassador. The library will provide solar eclipse glasses and view “the most complete eclipse since 2017.”
