MONTEAGLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - Emergency crews were sent to work a major crash on the interstate in Monteagle early Wednesday morning.

The crash occurred just before 5 a.m. on I-24 near Trussell Creek and involved multiple vehicles. One caught fire in the shoulder and fire crews were forced to shut down the interstate in both directions. As of 6 a.m., traffic was backed up miles toward
