Man dies after being shot at party at North Nashville short-term rental property

Police said the party involved high school-aged people with some adult supervision at a rental on Youngs Lane.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - BREAKING UPDATE: Darrin Fleming, 15, was charged Friday morning with criminal homicide for Thursday night’s fatal shooting of Barrington Moore, 31, at the Youngs Lane short-term rental. Fleming was there for another teen’s birthday party, police said.

Moore arrived to take him home. The two fought and Moore was shot, according to police.

PREVIOUS: One person was killed in a shooting during a party at a North Nashville short-term rental property on Thursday night, according to Metro Nashville Police.

Police said a man in his 30s was shot inside the property in the 900 block of Youngs Lane. The shooting was reported at 9:17 p.m. The victim was shot several times in the torso and died after being taken to a local hospital.

The shooting reportedly occurred during a high school-aged party with some adult supervision.

Detectives are interviewing the party attendees to determine what led to the shooting. They believe everyone who was at the party remained at the scene.
