Police: Man killed in shooting outside Bellevue apartment

The shooting was reported just before 10 p.m. at Forest Park Apartments.
Police are still looking for a suspect in a fatal shooting at a Bellevue apartment complex.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - Metro Nashville Police said the man shot at a Bellevue apartment on Friday night has died.

Police said Dorsey Moorlet, 37, was shot multiple times just before 10 p.m. at the Forrest Park Apartments, located at 6932 Highway 70 South. Moorlet was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he died.

According to police, Moorlet had just left the apartments on his way to work when he attempted to return to retrieve a forgotten item. He was located just outside the apartment after witnesses reported hearing gunfire.

Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463. Callers can remain anonymous and qualify for a $5,000 reward in homicide cases.
