Driver, car hit by gunfire before Williamson County crash, deputies say

FRANKLIN, Tenn. (WSMV) – A crash in Franklin on Friday morning could have been caused by gunfire, according to the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office.

Shortly before 10 a.m., deputies were called to the scene of a crash on Parker Branch Road near Natchez Trace Parkway.

Investigators believe the crash may have been caused by a gunshot hitting the vehicle and the driver, the WCSO said. The driver was hospitalized but is stable.

The motive behind the shooting remains unclear, the sheriff’s office said.
