10 Tennessee tornadoes confirmed from May 8 outbreak

One death has been reported so far.
The National Weather Service said a small tornado touched down in Lawrence County on Tuesday as severe storms moved through the area.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - Four more tornadoes have been confirmed in Lincoln County, Tennessee from the May 8 outbreak, bringing the total there to five, according to the National Weather Service.

The NWS has reported 10 tornadoes touched down during last week’s outbreak which brings the yearly total up to 13.

Tornadoes have now been confirmed in Maury (EF-3), Robertson (EF-1), Rutherford (EF-0), Giles (EF-2), Lincoln (five EF-1s) and Benton (EF-0) Counties during the tornado outbreak. One death has been reported so far.

WSMV4 First Alert Weather said May 8 was the first time the atmosphere showed its true fury this year in our area. Outside of that, it had been a quiet spring. Through May 5, the Mid State hadn’t had a single Tornado Warning.
