NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - After weeks of unsteadiness around the league that started with 16 teams, but is now down to 10, Arena Football League owners unanimously voted Nashville Kats Director of Football Operations Jeff Fisher as the league’s interim commissioner.

He takes over the role previously held by Lee Hutton III.

Fisher is a former NFL Head Coach for the Titans and Rams.

So far, the Kats have seen decent attendance at their two home games they’ve played at Municipal Auditorium.

Fisher maintains the AFL has stability going forward, through the end of this season and beyond.

“There are some things that obviously needed to be corrected,” said Fisher.

“They sought me out and asked me if I would do it and I’m willing to do that. I love people and I love solving problems. And there is an amazing potential and future ahead for this league and I want to help the various owners across the country realize that potential.”

The Kats have seven games remaining on their schedule.

Their next game is May 18th in Clarksville at the F&M Bank arena against the Wichita Regulators.
