One dead, teen injured in Hickman County shooting

BON AQUA, Tenn. (WSMV) - Agents with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation are investigating a deadly incident in rural Hickman County.

The TBI said the homicide investigation is focused on a residence in the 2200 block of Wayne Road in Bon Aqua, Tennessee. One person is confirmed dead, and another was left injured, TBI reported.

On May 15, TBI agents responded to a report of a shooting at the home. Initial reports indicate the incident began with a fight between a teen and young man, and the homeowner, Danny Pewitt, according to a TBI media release.

During the fight, a motorist, Clair Parish, was flagged down and stopped at the home, the TBI said. At some point, Pewitt allegedly fired a weapon, shooting and killing Parish and wounding the teen, according to the release.

The teen was transported to a local hospital and has since been released.

Pewitt was charged with criminal homicide and booked into the Hickman County jail. The investigation remains ongoing.
