NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - Traffic is backed up on Interstate 24 from Tennessee headed into Kentucky on the day of the solar eclipse.

On I-24 West in Montgomery County, highway maintenance was scheduled to begin at 9:51 a.m. and should be cleared by 3 p.m., according to the Tennessee Department of Transportation Smartway map.

On the map, traffic can be seen being backed from just before Pleasant View, all the way near the Tennessee/Kentucky line.

“Westbound traffic is affected with delays expected. Eastbound traffic is affected with no delays,” TDOT said.
