NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - The Storm Prediction Center has issued a “Moderate Risk” for severe weather in many areas of the country, including Middle Tennessee and Southern Kentucky.

A Moderate Risk is a more elevated threat than what we normally see in the Mid State. It is a Level 4 out of 5 on the severe threat scale. It is the red-shaded area on the map key and indicates that we could see some long-lived, widespread and intense storms.

Middle Tennessee has not been under a Moderate Risk in more than a year. The last time the Level 4 risk was issued here was on March 31, 2023.
