What ive noticed is that 98-100% of people in “alternative” networks/protocols/channels etc are very low quality. I.e. mental disorders, religious, right wing, liberal idpol, overweight, shut-ins irl etc etc. I don’t think high quality (meaning physically attractive, outgoing, high iq, social-democratic etc) people escape the gravity of corpo social media

the problem is, people rely too much on their (big tech's) products. It may seem up to debate, however, sadly, there are no equivalent, easy to use, convenient products next to bigtech's. In todays limiting internet infrastructure, cg-nats, firewalls, etc. nothing can be done!.. In these harsh conditions its next to impossible to float our tiny boats..

ActivityPub or rather the bigger Fediverse in general is designed to be such an alternative, where users are shared across websites, so you don't have to meditate in the void. Ease of use has gotten better on Fedi. There are even TikTok style UIs now, for those who like that...

Activitypub tries to create a distributed forum. Facebook isn't a forum, it's a cybernetic machine you can donate text and image posts to.
