What do you think about Forth and Lisp's baby?
Languages such as Forth and Lisp are associated with weak, socially inept, and boringly studious people. Such languages are permavirgins that have not and will not produce babies.

These ivory tower programming languages will always experience a genetic meltdown, where each generation is even less practical and less popular than the last. Mating two inferior languages merely produces another inferior language.

plus, if you define practical as popular and marketable, that's kind of sad

You should always use popular and marketable tools, unless you are antisocial. When something is popular, you will be able to find a huge community of people that share your interests. That is fun. That is so much more fun than being stuck with all those boringly studious people and their highly specialized interests that no one else cares about.

It is very easy in, say, a subreddit/newsgroup/mailing list/IRC with tens of thousands of subscribers for whatever you say to be swamped by what everyone else is saying.
If you are not concerned with getting paid, it can be easier to learn and interact (online) in a less popular language- irl is another matter.
