This is cool, just slightly too complicated on the user end. If it was a bit more simple for users to immediately figure out then it would be great

What parts of it do you find too complicated?

3 2019-11-21 13:53

I guess I should word that better- What parts of it do you think would be too complicated for new users?

SchemeBBS is a great example of how ``open-source'' misses the point of Free Software. While the source code is available on Gitlab, it does not have a license, which makes it proprietary software. I urge Ben Bitdiddle to release the source code under the AGPL. Maybe as a valentine's day gift to Alyssa.

I didn't know the License file was missing. Added MIT License for the SchemeBBS code.
Sorry for that, everything was done in a hurry. I'll tell you the story one day.

Files in the folder /deps like SRFI-26 or irregex.scm have their own licenses.
MIT/GNU Scheme is licensed under the GPL, the modification in its source code needed to run SchemeBBS are shared in the file ==mit-scheme-9.2.patch==

Happy Valentine, Alyssa!

You have not released the css setting and propagating functionality that this Anon was asking about:

Also, Alyssa is Eva's girlfriend and future wife.

Done. I have not been very often around a computer the whole last year. I'll try to port SchemeBBS to MIT Scheme 10.1 and write some frigging documentation one of these days. The i2p gate also needs to be fixed.

Also, Alyssa is Eva's girlfriend and future wife.

I really enjoyed reading this fanfic. That's precisely what is missing from other "serious" Scheme forums (although I'm not aware of many besides /r/scheme which is mostly beginner's questions).
