The program was opened to education in 1998, within Bergama Technical and Business College, Ege University

As a Mushroom Technician, a Associate Degree Diploma is given to the graduates who have succesfully completed the Mushroom Program

Specific Admission Requirements
Candidates prefer to have a High School or equivalent school diploma and the TYT score of the central examination system.
Specific Arrangements For Recognition Of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal)
Our students are exempted from the Information and Communication Technology, Foreign Language I and Foreign Language II courses taught in the first year, when they score 70 or higher in the exemption exams held at the beginning of the fall semester.
Qualification Requirements and Regulations
To achieve a weighted grade point average (GPA) of at least 2.00 out of 4.00 in order to successfully complete all of the courses available in the program. In addition, at the end of the 1st year, he must successfully complete his internship, which is 30 working days.
Profile of The Programme
The purpose of Mushroom Program, to train qualified personnel for the public and private sector engaged in mushroom cultivation. establishment of a modern mushroom enterprise, providing the climatic conditions desired by the cultivated mushroom in these production facilities, cultivation of cultivated mushrooms in these production facilities, identification and solutions of the problems encountered in cultivation, recognition of the diseases and pests encountered, taking cultural precautions against diseases and pests, In addition to topics such as the preservation and marketing of mushrooms, the biology, physiology and mycological properties of fungi are also given theoretically and practically.
There are no elective courses in the program, and all courses are within the scope of compulsory courses.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples
Mushroom cultivation shows a very rapid development in our country. But the desired dimensions have not been reached yet. The main reason for this is the insufficient consumption of mushrooms in our country and the fact that our people do not have enough information about mushrooms. Currently, job opportunities are predominantly in the private sector, and within the possibilities of those who have received the title of technician, they can also provide employment opportunities by doing this cultivation. However, if we take into account the rapid development of mushroom cultivation in our country, we believe that it will provide the opportunity to find a job as a large sector in the near future. He can work with the title of 'Mushroom Technician'
Access to Further Studies
If the candidates who have successfully completed the pre-graduate education won the DGS examination, they may continue a further studies in agricultural engineering, food engineering and nutrition and dietetics department.

Meassurement and evaluation of lessons instruction applied for each lesson are defined in educational plan in detail
Graduation Requirements
The students who want to study in Mushromm Programme should be robust and resistant to bodily, researcher, careful, tidy and patient while working in workshops and in the labs, enviroment-conscious, able to communicate with others well and sharing, able to follow current developments, and to be graduated they must completed 1. 30 days internship successfully.

Facilities
There are 1 Assist Prof and 1 Dr. Instructor works as a permanent staff working in our program. In Yusuf Perin Campus, in Bergama, there are 2 x 35 m2 mushroom growings room with have computer-controlled air-conditioning system, 120 m2 compost preparation floor, 20 m2 tunnel, 20 m2 spawning room, 16 m2 warehouse, 25 m2 students application and a relaxation room. Also, there is mushroom lab.
