Registration Help & Tools

Welcome to Carleton University!

Now that you are a Carleton University student, you have a few things left to do before you begin your classes in September. This checklist will help you get your Carleton journey off to a great start!

1

Start now!

All you need to know about registration is on our Registration website. Review the website before registration begins on July 3, 2024. Find out when your registration time opens (this is your “time ticket”) and set a reminder for yourself to register. Note other important dates applicable to you such as fee payment and academic deadlines. Your registration will take place in Carleton Central so make sure you have activated your MyCarletonOne (MC1) account using your user name emailed to you after you applied. Your MC1 account gives you access to all of Carleton’s IT services and applications including your Carleton email. Your Carleton email will be the university’s official means of communicating with you now that you are a student.

Attend a Registration Information Session!

2

Plan your courses and register

Be sure to understand the degree requirements found in your first year course selection guide. Once you know which courses you need, login to Carleton Central and use timetable builder to add classes and resolve schedule conflicts before your actual registration time ticket opens. To ensure a successful registration, watch our online registration How-to videos. If you still have questions – contact our Student Registration Assistance Team!

3

After you register

Once you register for courses, you will be required to pay your fees (fall term payment deadline is August 25, 2024). To prepare your T4A and/or T2202 tax slips, your SIN is required by the Canada Revenue Agency. If you require an official Verification of Student Status (VOSS) in order to access your Registered Education Savings Plans (RESP) funds, request the letter through Carleton Central from the main menu. (International students can disregard this process, and only need a SIN in order to work in Canada. They can apply for a SIN as needed.) All newly admitted students should sign up for Orientation, your chance to interact with other students, faculty, and staff in both structured information sessions and small informal groups. Students with disabilities should register with the Paul Menton Centre for Students with Disabilities to ensure they receive the help they need. Apply online for your Campus Card – a multipurpose student ID card that gives you access to athletics, the library, residence meal plans and more; eligible students will also receive their transit pass (U-Pass) at the same time.
