Nestled in the desert foothills of the Tortolita Mountain Range, the 27 holes at The Golf Club at Dove Mountain feature dramatic elevation changes and stunning views. The three nines were all designed by Jack Nicklaus and are played in three different 18-hole combinations. The Wild Burro/Saguaro golf course combines Nicklaus' favorite nine, Wild Burro, with the front nine of the Accenture Match Play Championship. The golf course features intricately contoured greens and carefully placed fairway bunkers. The course plays through canyons and desert washes covered in centuries-old Saguaro cacti. The third, fourth and fifth holes on the Wild Burro nine are notably challenging with the third featuring an "island green" standing amidst sand and cacti.
by Mark Shull on May 24th, 2011 08:46Spent the week playing 5 courses in Tucson. Without a doubt, Dove Mountain was the best experience of the week. The practice area was maybe the finest I have ever seen. Course condition / greens were excellent. Pro shop staff and range attendants were all friendly and courteous. Next trip out west may be spent solely at Dove Mtn.
by Shane on April 17th, 2011 11:46The course was fine, greens a little long though. Back at the hotel (Ritz) a sleezy bartender Andrea bragged about how she use to work at Curves tittybar. Other than Andrea and the greens it was a true Ritz experience.
