Palms Golf Club is situated just east of Mesquite in Littlefield. Built in 1989, it was the Mesquite area's first golf course. The layout balances the old and the new, creating a course with a lot of variety. The front nine plays through sparkling lakes with palm trees lining the fairways while the back nine tumbles across deep canyons and arroyos. Elevated tees on the back nine provide stunning views of the surrounding desert and mountains. The two nines present entirely different challenges. There are 45 bunkers strategically placed along the greensides and water hazards coming into play throughout. The par-4 fifth hole is the number one handicap hole on the golf course. This dogleg right has a water hazard to the right that is hidden off the tee and bunkers to the left of the fairway.

If that's not enough for you. you can read all about playing golf like theydid in the pre 1900 s. Reading and doing are two entirely different things. Armed with splice neck woods, smooth faced hickory shafted irons, no bag, no cart, knickers, no gloves, tie, and gutta percha balls, there's nothing on earth like it anywhere. To top that off, you won't find nicer folks that everyone at Oakhurst. If you don't have your own set of clubs and balls, no worry it's all there for you. It's fantastic to walk the fairways where Montague and friends even held a Christmas tournament in the hills of White Sulphur Springs, W.Va. Great place. Great folks. Great time!
