Dinosaur Mountain, designed by Ken Kavanaugh and opened in 1982, is often touted as one of the best public golf courses in Arizona. It has some of the most dramatic elevation changes in Arizona golf, and you would struggle to find a golf course in the state that is in better condition. Controlling your yardage can be tricky, but the scenery more than makes up for any of the golf course’s challenge.
Dinosaur Mountain has some of the most drastic elevation changes in Arizona golf, which means yardage can be tricky factoring the drop and altitude. Imagine that reliable nine-iron of yours flying more than 200 yards on some holes. But the views from all over the course are stunning, and it would be tough to find a better-conditioned golf course in Arizona. To add to the visual excitement, natural habitats for many creatures – including jackrabbits, coyotes, and roadrunners – are all plentiful and easy to spot, especially in the morning and late afternoon. Dinosaur Mountain plays 6,583 yards from the back tees.

2½ star at best
by Leigh Boman on May 28th, 2016 20:23We stayed at the resort wirh friends and the Golf course is beautiful but the resort is nothing to brag about. Talk about needing an overhaul! The resort would not last if the golfing was not great!
Service is below standards to other resorts we have stayed at in Arizona. Clearly the owners don't care about "Many Happy Returns"
by Faye on March 27th, 2012 06:37Have never stayed at the resort, but the course is fantastic - challenging for all skill levels and the scenery is awesome. We play different courses in this area on our annual golf trip each year but this is the only course we play every year.
by matt on March 22nd, 2012 21:07One of the best courses in Az. Resort is not like a Ritz but if you are a golfer who loves a beautiful course with dantastic views you can't beat this venue. The tips play much longer than 6500 yards. I have played more than a dozen of the best courses in the Phoenix / Scottsdale area and i can't say that any are better.
by GC Golfer on August 09th, 2011 11:55Second rate "resort" with only beautiful scenery to keep it in business. Restaurant and food are below par. Don't waste your money.
