Located in the heart of the Sonoran Desert in historic Cave Creek, Arizona, the Rancho Manana Golf Club features a par 70 championship with tight fairways, thick desert terrain, elevated greens and water on a group of holes make up Bill Johnston's 1987 design.
Tight fairways, thick desert terrain, elevated greens and water on a group of holes make up Bill Johnston's 1987 design at the Rancho Manana Golf Club. Elevated holes present panoramic views.
More than $6 million in renovations over the past decade have added more vegetation, which, together with its reshaped greens, have made the course more playable. To date, Rancho Manana plays a short par-70 at 6,016 yards.
Tight fairways, thick desert terrain, elevated greens and water on a group of holes put a premium on accurate tee balls. And the undulating greens are tricky enough to hit out of the fairway. Many of the putting surfaces are surrounded by steep, rolling banks that can dump shots hit just off-center rolling through the grass, rocks and desert.

I will definitely play this course again and recommend it to friends.
by William Smith on February 08th, 2018 20:01This is not only one of the most unique courses you will play in AZ but anywhere. I've played on courses in the South, Southwest, Canada, Alaska and Scotland but I talk about this one the most. It has a characteristic of its own, beautiful, challenging despite being fairly short. If you play it once you will be back. You can't help yourself, despite the fact that you will probably lose 5 balls and shoot 5 over your handicap. If you don't like this course it's probably because it kicked your butt.
