Discover a pleasurable parkland golf course at Oakcreek Country Club in Sedona

SEDONA, Ariz. -- Oakcreek Country Club delivers a different experience than most desert golf courses in Arizona.

Forget cacti and desert arroyos. Oakcreek mirrors a traditional Midwestern country club with towering trees and pines and ponds lining the fairways. This classic 6,824-yard parkland course is easily walkable.

It dates to 1968, when Robert Trent Jones Sr. designed what is now the back nine. His son Rees Jones added the front nine in 1972. There are countless holes with the majestic Red Rocks of Sedona serving as a beautiful backdrop, none better than the par-3 fourth. Ponds impact the two par 3s on the back nine -- No. 13 and No. 16. A creek crosses in front of the 15th green to keep long hitters from trying to reach the par 5 in two.

Superintendent Bill Czekai has upgraded turf conditions since taking the job more than a year ago, keeping Oakcreek in fine shape for members and visitors alike.

Oakcreek Country Club is situated amongst Sedona's red rock mountains, providing unique scenery throughout. Opened over 40 years ago, it is Sedona's first golf course. The course was a collaboration between Robert Trent Jones, Sr. and his son. It is a classic, player-friendly layout that offers plenty of room for error.
