Student conduct

The university is committed to promoting a safe, respectful and supportive learning, living and working environment. As part of the university community, each student is responsible for their personal conduct as it affects the university community, university activities and the university’s property.

The Office of Student Life (OSL) works directly with the university community to review and help resolve non-academic student conduct concerns. We administer the university’s Resolution of Non-Academic Misconduct Allegations policy and serve as a supportive resource to the university community.

We work to implement fair and efficient processes for responding to concerns about the conduct of students on university property and/or when participating in a university activity.

What OSL does

We help to resolve non-academic misconduct issues by:

receiving reports and allegations of non-academic student misconduct
conducting reviews of misconduct allegations
determining if an investigation is required
where possible and appropriate, helping to support the informal resolution of conduct matters (e.g. education or direct, respectful communication between parties)
investigating formal misconduct allegations
determining or recommending a reasonable course of action after investigation
working with students who engage with conduct processes to engage with support resources

University community members can seek consultation from the OSL for matters that relate to student conduct.
